Угроза не характерна для ситуации официального общения и для общения с людьми более высокого социального статуса. Реплики, выражающие угрозу, всегда категоричны и, как правило, эмоционально окрашены. Могут заменяться жестами, напр. в общении с ребёнком можно погрозить пальцем. Рука вытянута вперёд, согнута в локте, тыльная сторона ладони обращена к собеседнику. Указательный палец вытянут вверх, остальные согнуты и прижаты к ладони. Рука от локтя или только кисть производит движение слева направо и справа налево. Жест сильно отличается от соответствующего русского, где движения руки совершаются в сагиттальной, а не во фронтальной плоскости.
